DKNY Steals Artists' Work for Display

My husband is a photographer.  He sells his work.  It is not a hobby.  It is a vocation with original copyrighted material. Recently, he came across a fellow photog with a Facebook site he likes and the following post about his work being stolen by DKNY.  Yes, that DKNY.

This photographer has over 500,000 followers on Facebook.  Did the brain trusts at DKNY think nobody would notice?

Les Fleurs du Printemps

Every once in a while I just want to publish something "pretty".  No politics, no opinions, no jokes, no controversies.

Over the years, my husband has worked on close-up photography with flowers.  I like to share my favorites each Spring.

A Feeling of Contentment

Sand, Rocks, Sea, Sky
by Cole Scott

There is something peaceful, very still about this photograph.  My initial reaction is along the lines of, "the more things change, the more they stay the same."  It has an intensely Buddhist feel to it, a sense of Nirvana, complete peace devoid of distracting needs.  For me, the ocean is a metaphor for peace which is why it gives me such pleasure.  I can be at the ocean and think of nothing else but where I am at that moment without worry about what I should be doing or regret for something I've already done.

Respite from Ranting

Windows and Walls by Cole Scott

My husband took this recently of a corner in our new family and kitchen combo.  I believe he unconsciously named it after the Dan Fogelberg album.  Love Fogelberg,  His song, Same Old Lang Syne, always brings tears to my eyes as does the album title song.
Here's a bit of each.

The Honeymooners

The Honeymooners
by Cole Scott

When I first saw this photo I thought it was a capture of a whimsical sculpture.  We had been to Shelburne Farms in Burlington,VT. and viewed some incredible sculptures in the basement of the Round Barn which is quite a piece of architecture in itself..  Anyway, I asked my husband about it and he said,

"No.  It's Rockefeller Center.  I took it on my trip to New York in August."

He and our eldest son made an overnight trip to NY to pick up a large format printer he'd bought on ebay at a huge discount.  They spent one night in the city and he clicked away then created this very cool image out of one of his shots.  He was always a "Honeymooners" fan, hence the title.  I asked why he didn't put a face on the moon like the tv show but he said it would be "overkill".

That's why he's the artist.

Whimsy

There is a lot of whimsy in this photograph my husband posted to his flickr site this morning. Some of the fun stuff you'll recognize and some may be a bit hard to make out.
I love it, alot of personal objects have been photoshopped in. If you want to guess in a comment, I'll answer the question(s).

The Road I've Taken Part 2

I've received so many nice comments on the last post, I've added more photos from my husband's collection.  These are shots from our neck o' the mountains.

The Road I've Taken

The road on which I live.

This is, of course, the greatest time of year in New England and I always count my blessings when I see the leaves begin to change.  I fell in love with this area during my first Fall visit and, 23 years later, I love it still.   Fall colors and weather and changes make the rest of the less endearing times of the year, mud season in Spring, black flies in Summer and freeze-your-ass-off Winter days, worthwhile.  Here's a taste...

Sunday

WOO HOO! It's 56 degrees and the snow is melting and the bedraggled remnants of my snowbound garden showed themselves today. I am psyched! Time to post some cheerful photos taken last Spring with a look toward the Spring to come.
