Sunny Skies, Warm Temps & Me

80 degree temperatures, warm ocean water, sugar sand beaches and sun sun sun.

I just spent nine days in the land of warm winters and it was glorious.  I'm back in New Hampshire now where we hit a high of 39F today and it snowed over an inch.

Highlights from my blissful trip...

  1. do you write out a wish and tie it on the tree? I saw something like that at an art show once.

  2. Bill, you don't write it. You remove the paper wrist band they give you when you pay admission. You make a wish and tie to the tree. The museum building is new and extraordinary. I was never a Dali fan but after going to the museum, taking a docent tour and following up with a recorded tour, I learned a great deal and have tremendous respect for him.

  3. How wonderful. That last picture looks like a Dali painting but in the best way possible. :-)

  4. That looks much, much, much better than my trip to Florida. Miami is a beach-shaped toilet. St. Petersburg, on the other hand, looks beautiful.

  5. You still looked tense in the first picture, but totally relaxed, and beautiful, by the second. Good medicine. Love the pic of the pelicans.

  6. DJan, hahahaha! You mean I look like a melting clock or the egg out of which climbs a new man?

  7. Beer Boys, St. Petersburg is so very lovely and clean. It's in the throes of renovation. Ten years ago, even less, it was downtrodden. So much has changed. They have a vibrant art scene, fun restaurants & bars, downtown is cute and walkable It reminded me of San Diego when the downtown area began its revitalization about 20 years ago. It's also full of young people, a big plus for someone your age.

  8. Susan, actually, I probably was tense in the first photo. I had just come from the airport my GF was having me pose with the sun in my face & I couldn't see a thing. Later that night I was tanked. She knows where all the $3 wine bars are.

  9. Didn't know that about St. Pete...it all sounds pretty wonderful. A getaway is a great way to make it through a northern winter.

  10. Good Morning Nancy, yes, I think it's quite wonderful. My friends with the 2nd home plan to move there permanently in a few years. Winter in NH has been unbearable. It was 18F this morning when I went to work.

  11. It looks like you were in the right place. The mild weather must have felt pretty darn good. You are looking good in both photos!
