Tuesday Funnies

I admit, I am sick of politics right now.  But here's a nod to the issues at hand.

Grover Norquist is a bug I'd like to squash

OMG will these 3 STFU?  Kelly Ayotte is a complete moron and she's
OUR moron in N.H.  The only elected Republican in an all female field of Dems.

We all wonder if it went down like this.

Binders Full of Broads? Please proceed...

Yeah.  I was offended.  But Romney's debate response to helping women succeed in the work place illustrates his total lack of interest in what was, by that time, no longer a movement.  Women were breaking glass ceilings, albeit slowly.  Somehow, as Governor, he missed that.

Oh, and, by the way, he LIED about seeking out those women.

As much as this debate tied my stomach in knots with its lack of decorum, rude gestures, lack of respect towards the Office of the President if not the man.  I longed for it to be over.

Then came the great faux pas.

Punk'd

I totally admit it.  I saw a link on Facebook to an article about Ann Romney mouthing off about equal pay for women and I thought it was real. I wrote a quick intro, cut and pasted an excerpt of her "quote" and hurriedly hit the Publish button.

Immediately, my brain began to question itself.

"Why hadn't I seen this on the news? (I work for a TV station. We flip channels all day)

"What other source quotes are there? (I usually use at least two)

I started to worry. I had never heard of the source, Free Wood Post, before.

A little digging showed my inner voice to be true. I had picked up a satirical news thread. It could have been Andy Borowitz or The Onion but I'm familiar with those. I removed it within 5 minutes of publishing. But the damage is done. It's out there...somewhere, like Sally's pending 40th birthday in "When Harry Met Sally".

Lesson learned.

Found on Facebook today

When I first saw this, all I saw was the guy on the left
and I stiffened w/ irritation.  Then I saw the guy on the right.

Yeah, this is where my head is at.

Probably true.
