Ruthless People: The Cheneys

Last week I earmarked  the Nov 14th Salon article on the biggest Dick of all, Dick Cheney, whose heart-less remarks about his heart donor underscored the ongoing belief of us Munchkins that, he's never had a heart to begin with and the transplant didn't work the way it was supposed to.  Quoth Dick:
"When I came out from under the anesthetic after the transplant, I was euphoric.  I’d had–I’d been given the gift of additional lives, additional years of life.  For the family of the donor, they’d just been [through] some terrible tragedy, they’d lost a family member.  Can’t tell why, obviously, when you don’t know the details, but the way I think of it from a psychological standpoint is that it’s my new heart, not someone else’s old heart. And I always thank the donor, generically thank donors for the gift that I’ve been given, but I don’t spend time wondering who had it, what they’d done, what kind of person."

This week we have another Cheney blunder in the works.  Liz Cheney, daughter of cold hearted Dick and his chilly wife Lynne, has expressed her disdain for same sex a.k.a. gay marriage, dissing her lesbian sister and spouse in her political bid for the Republican Senate race in Wyoming.   Rather than sit on the sidelines, Mary Cheney's spouse took to Facebook:
I was watching my sister-in-law on Fox News Sunday (yes Liz, in fifteen states and the District of Columbia you are my sister-in-law) and was very disappointed to hear her say “I do believe in the traditional definition of marriage.”
Liz has been a guest in our home, has spent time and shared holidays with our children, and when Mary and I got married in 2012 – she didn’t hesitate to tell us how happy she was for us.
To have her now say she doesn’t support our right to marry is offensive to say the leas
I can’t help but wonder how Liz would feel if as she moved from state to state, she discovered that her family was protected in one but not the other.
I always thought freedom meant freedom for EVERYONE.

The compassion in this family is epic.  Machiavelli ain't got nothin' on them Cheneys.

Can you imagine throwing your sister and her family under the bus in a quest for a Senate seat?

Can you imagine being the person whose heart ended up in Dick Cheney?  Were it me, if I weren't already dead, I'd kill myself.

Can you say "ruthless"?

There's nothing to add to what you've said here. I agree one hundred percent that Cheney is evil personified. I knew there is some new brouhaha with the family, and now I know what it's about. Thanks for enlightening me. Usually when I see the name "Cheney" I look away. :-)

"Can you imagine being the person whose heart ended up in Dick Cheney? Were it me, if I weren't already dead, I'd kill myself." - thanks for the laugh. I guess donors don't get to make any political requests for where their parts go. I'm hoping the donor was gay.
I did know that he had one lesbian daughter but I didn't know she had married until this story. I can't imagine family get-togethers in that family.
(oh I really like that tea party sign on your sidebar)

Why can't the Cheney's go away? He's like that booger you just can't get.

There is pure battery acid in their veins. Although, I have seen Dickwad publicly support Mary, it seems now his glee at the possibility of dumping another Cheney into the political arena -- LOL! I was actually going to say "has caused him to have a change of heart." BAHAHAHA!!! What a waste of a good vital organ.

A class act, those Cheneys. I usually don't allow myself to wish harm upon anyone, but I make an exception for them. Or three out of for of them, at any rate.

I totally agree with everything you said. I watched Dick's interview and he is colder than ice. That poor donor heart is having to push ice water through those veins. I think his daughter is the apple that didn't fall far from the tree. I, too, hate that either of them are getting any air-time.

If there's any cosmic justice, the owner of his previous heart is haunting the crap out of him and his family right now, Paranormal Activity style.

First he supports his daughter Mary then he throws his support to the daughter who wants to win in the election, how heartless they have grand children for God's sake! He is mean spirited to be sure and cunning, it is no wonder he got a donor heart with all his still power..I hope the heart he got was from a liberal loving gay person and will change him thoroughly, maybe he will get the good Karma of the person whose heart he has, there are miracles you know that..ciao!!!!

It's just so confusing for them. They have views that make sense when they're drunk or, maybe, in church. Then when they come out of a stupor, they get a moment of clarity and say or do something intelligent. It must be difficult. However, nobody's perfect and we ARE all in this together. Thank God for blogs like this! -Julie

I totally agree with everything you said. But its obvious in the condition of cosmic justice, that the previous heart owner is crap out of him and his family is in normal activity style just like those ladies that implant their breast as its difficult of the aesthetic breast surgery procedures.and physicians generally observe less stress and trauma to the body as a result of this procedure. But at the end people are stable and perform their activities in normal style.
