MediScare Goes Viral

Joe Scarborough calls it "Mediscare". The Repubs say it's being "demagogued". The Agenda Project has a response.

While I'm not crazy about the extreme approach, it certainly is attention getting; kinda like those "death panel" rants Sarah Palin was giving a while back.

Jimmy Fallon, on "Morning Joe" this morning has a different take.
"Any time you get to throw a dummy off a cliff, that's good stuff."

I've been following your posts about this issue and just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate you. Hopefully the Republicans are shooting themselves in the foot...

Hi DJan: Not everyone agrees with us but I'm so tired of the ceaseless threats and rhetoric towards "entitlement programs". Funds for needy families are being slashed and many other social programs. Why aren't we talking about the military spendiing? Why?

I agree with you on this issue and also that this is an extreme approach. I'm afraid this approach is mostly effective when preaching to the choir, but otherwise it is polarizing. I receive e-mails from my Republican in-laws that are equally polarizing. Rather than reading their e-mails with careful consideration, it makes me want to stick my fingers in my ears and shout "lalalalala". This clip plays strictly on emotion and does not provide one fact to prove its allegation. I wouldn't mind watching the footage of this ad if it stated some concrete facts on before-and-after-Medicare scenarios. The music though, has got to go. Perhaps it could be replaced with a voice-over of persuasive information.

Sorry to be so negative, but I'm trying to find a way to be more effective.

The scene with her little pink shoe being dragged along...

Why we are not talking about military spending is because the deck is stacked. It doesn't matter if you are Republican or Democrat anymore - they are all the same once they get in office. The idea is to keep Americans as slaves to corporations that don't care enough to even pay taxes in this country. There is no moral obligation to anyone or anything other than profits, and personal power. Listen to Kennedy's speech on secrets.
