Laura Trevey just painted a beautiful new work of "Black Eyed Susans" I find cheerful, sunny and summery. She says it's the "probably the most common of all American wildflowers."

My husband and I were on a hike to the river today and we passed a lovely bush of them. He wished he had his camera. He loves photographing them. We had lots of them in our yard and woods in our previous home. I've posted a photo he took of them growing between the slats of wood pallets in our back yard.
Lovely painting and photo. I could see them as companion pieces on the wall.

Are they edible?
ReplyDeleteLovely summer painting! I had lots of Black Eyed Susans in my yard, in Maryland. They grow here, but not as many, as there. They are one of my favorite flowers.

ReplyDeleteI think I like the name more than the flower. My mother loved them and planted them around gum trees. Some still hang about but the rabbits love em. Gorgeous summery painting though. I wish I could afford some decent wall art.
