Many years ago, I saw the musical "Mack and Mabel" with Robert Preston (one of my great movie heros) and Bernadette Peters. They brought it to San Diego for an out-of-town trial run and I was lucky enough to get a ticket. Even though the show was unsuccessful on Broadway, it had two of the most poignant, memorable love songs I've ever heard.
This is one of them:

Just lovely, both of them. It must have been a great show to see. Thanks for sharing them, I'll have to listen to them a few more times today.
Aww nice choices. I love Bernadette Peters, miss the theatre too.
Oh, wow! I've never heard either one of these songs and they're both so beautiful and sad. I've always loved Bernadette Peters. Remember when she and Steve Martin were an item? For quite a long time, if I recall correctly. I always loved it when she appeared as a guest star on The Carol Burnett Show.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Thank you so much for sharing these. I truly enjoyed them as a Valentine gift to me from you. I hope your day is/was a lovely one filled with magic.
I've always adored Bernadette Peters.
I enjoyed those songs, thank you and I hope you had a really nice day yesterday.
I enjoyed the songs and I liked the polished renditions of them from these two singers. Thanks for posting them.
Really nice on the ears. He has a Johhny Mathis-esque about his voice that I really like. Smooth.
How wonderful. I especially enjoyed Michael Feinstein. I had never heard either song. Thank you!
Lovely songs!
I remember both of the songs but had totally forgotten Bernadette Peters. Nice.
"I Won't Send Roses" - I can relate to that one. The "Time Heals Everything" - thought it was jazzy at the start but it ended with a big band sound. Now you know why I'm not a music critic.
thanks for linky this post up
