Beachin' It

Ahhh, the beach. Holmes Beach to be exact. Holmes Beach on Anna Maria Island. Our vacation spot. We were "100 large steps to the beach" according to the rental publicity. And it was true!
Our single story bungalow condo was situated behind a two story condo bldg that fronts the beach. We could walk out the front door, turn right & walk 100 "large" steps to the sand.

When we first arrived, we walked down to and sat on the sugar sand beach staring at the turquoise sea with our mouths half open. Anyone watching us would have thought we'd never seen a beach before!

My husband is slowly working on the over one thousand photos he took. This is a photo of my sons hauling our stuff to the beach. It's high noon. I am impatiently waiting for the rest of the selected photos as I want to send to friends and post a few more to my blogs. The colors are so amazing. I can't wait to share. Ready for vacation anyone?

Large steps make me think you had to walk like characters in an old R. Crumb cartoon - trucking.

Looks like a little bit o heaven to me! But, of course, today is rainy and overcast so I'm somewhat coveting those sunrays in your photo!

Yup! Those are my boys or as my younger son would say, "Mah boyze".

It really is that beautiful and more.

...I just wandered here from Susan's at Bear Swamp Reflections and knew right away where that beach was...Anna Maria Island has been a Florida family favorite for years...my parents rented on the island then bought a place in
Bradenton...memories! Love the picture...

I shared a few pics from my vacation on Anna Maria in March on my blog...it was pretty cold then though!

Love and miss Florida beaches. Lived in Madeira and Redington Beach for over thirty years, can't wait to get back.

Oliag: Welcome to my world. It's funny, I'd never heard of the island until my husband came across the place to rent on VRBO. After we were booked, people wanted to know "where in Fla?" and when we told them, most would sigh and say how wonderful it is there. And it is. Lucky you and your family!

Flastar: I don't blame you. I want to move to Anna Maria Is now.

Marguerite: Me too. I was born and raised in southern CA and grew up going to the beach. I'll never get over it. Have to live near it again some day.

Baino: Just read your latest post on the Victorian hotel in Melbourne. Have to get back to it to comment as there is so much to respond to.

But Susan, I love you!

I hope you know I was only kidding, right? XOXOXO

Susan: don't be silly, of course I know that! Thanks for putting me on your blog and sending new readers to me.

You're quite welcome, my dear! I wanted others to appreciate what I've been enjoying. However, I think you have waaaay more readers than I do! :) I would put your other one on there, but I can't get it to link up.

Oh this photo is gorgeous! How come I can't take a photo at high noon like that?

Your vacation spot sounds incredible, man.

Did you know I did the tag you tagged me? In case you didn't see it, I wanted you to know. It's here.

Debo: it was so wonderful. my husband just sent me a few more photos to post so I'll get on that. I can relive the trip with each photo.

Ruth: I mentioned your comment to my photographer hubby and he smiled about the "high noon" comment. I'm guessing that's hard to do? I like it because of the sky in the wide angle lens.
