Yes. We in the East are expecting a big storm. A huge storm. Some call it "snowmageddon". Others call it the result of the Polar Vortex. Still others like "snowpocalypse". But "bombogenesis"?
Pseu, It's 8AM Tue & thus far the storm is hitting some areas hard & others not so much. The weather service overestimated the coverage of the storm (too wide) and the amount of snow. That said, Worcester MA is at 27" & has all day to go. That ain't hay.
Brian, you're in VA right? I lived in Richmond for a number of years and it shut down with an inch of snow. DC too! I had a boxx who would send out the Jeep Wrangler to pick up all her salespeople. Really!
DJan, I think the NYC thing is overblown on both sides. I mean, if they hadn't taken precautions & it had been more centered over the city, they'd have been flipping out. Better safe than sorry as far as I'm concerned.
OE, well, maybe not snow angels but we are all definitely taking advantage. This area has everything recreational for the Winter vacationer & resident. (I sound like a travel agent).

Well, I never knew that! Thank goodness I live in England, we don't get things like that in the Midlands!

Keith, hahahaha! Welcome sir. I am glad Betsy's blog brought you. We are bracing for the worst and hoping for the best.
Hang in there and stay warm and safe!

This just now showed up in my Reader. It's already happened and now we know what it was. Horrible in Massachusetts and a bust in New York City. :-)

I hope you are taking advantage of this and making lots of snow angels :)
