Where do I go for Political POV?

Hosed   by Cole Scott

Thought I'd post some links to places I go for points of view on the news I'm getting from the networks, the NY Times, the Huffington Post, et.al.

the Field Negro   His profile indicates he is a lawyer. His POV is "candid discussions about race" Just started reading his posts.

Political Carnival  Hilarious posts on anything and everything political.

FiveThirtyEight    Statistical breakdowns on everything from polls to stock market, etc.  A must stop for Type As.

Think Progress    Liberal POV striving for "Social and Economic Justice; Media Accountability;Healthy Communities; Global and Domestic Security".

The Raw Story    is "...an alternative news nexus....draws upon a panoply of news sources and select stories... most intriguing to an audience seeking news underplayed by mainstream media."

FactCheck.org    the facts, ma'am, just the facts.  They check, clarify and/or correct statements made in the media.  A must for anyone following politics.  Check out Whoppers of 2009.

Favorite tv news show:  The Daily Show.  Nobody skewers news like Jon Stewart.

Favorite News Anchor:  Seth Meyers, Weekend Update.  Check out last night below.  Classic.

Thanks for this - I've been wanting some new points of view. Also, Seth Myers was hilarious! And spot on!

Thanks! I esp will use the "fact checker"..... PS: I enjoy SNL too, but usually start to fall asleep during the news.

AND I love the Maggie picture, being the total CAT Lover that I am!

Interesting post. I enjoyed checking out some of the links.

Also, we have monarch butterflies here too but I chose to show my favorite, the zebra swallowtail. Look for the monarchs later.

I really appreciate factcheck.org. I'm in a pundit free zone these days, even steering away from my beloved Keith Olbermann.

Looking for objective news is really eye opening. Almost all the news is laced with analysis these days, even the NYTimes. I don't want anyone to tell me how to think about the news. I'm trying hard to learn how to think for myself!

Rachel Maddow is great, an actual investigative reporter. Other than her, though ... don't know what anyone even tries to be objective anymore.

Finally got to your post, which I can kind of been avoiding since I'm not American or living in the US. However!! I took a look at factchek.org and think that Canada could really use a site like this. Very interesting, indeed. Your list of political sites does your readers a civic service.

If I ever listen to or read the news again, I'll keep your post in mind. :|

I'm half serious.

I do turn to Stewart, NY Times and Huff Post. Thanks for the others. I also do Truthdig, Salon and CommonDreams.
